The SUNY Fredonia School of Music announces a concert and master class with leading marimba performer, Nancy Zeltsman on Jan. 28. Master class 3:30-5:50 p.m. in 1080 Mason Hall; concert at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. Free and open to the public and sponsored by the Fredonia Percussion Guild and the Student Association.
Zeltsman is a leading marimba performer, recording artist, teacher, author and festival director who has premiered over 125 solo and chamber marimba works. These include pieces by Paul Simon, Michael Tilson Thomas, Gunther Schuller, Carla Bley, Robert Aldridge and Lyle Mays. Zeltsman has presented recitals and marimba master classes across the U.S. and Europe and in Japan and Mexico.
Her recordings include three solo marimba CDs; three CDs with the marimba/violin duo Marimolin; William Thomas McKinley's marimba concerto recorded with Boston Modern Orchestra Project; and a duo marimba CD with Jack Van Geem. She has recently released several videos on YouTube performing with clarinetist Michael Norsworthy.

Zeltsman's marimba method, "Four Mallet Marimba Playing: A Musical Approach for All Levels," is published by Hal Leonard Corporation.
