High wind warning, lake effect snow warning in effect

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in effect until 4 p.m. this afternoon. A lake effect snow warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.

For the rest of today, lake effect snow showers will occur late this morning then lake effect snow this afternoon. Areas of blowing snow. Snow may be heavy at times this afternoon. Accumulation 2 to 3 inches in the most persistent snows. Strong winds. Late morning highs in the upper 20s then temperatures falling to around 20 inland and to the mid 20s along the lake shore. West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 60 mph diminishing to 30 to 40 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent. An additional 4 to 7 inches could fall this evening.
