OLEAN - Lacey Clark's game-high 20 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, was not enough Tuesday night, as the Dunkirk Lady Marauders (10-5, 7-3) fell to the CCAA Division 1-leading Olean Lady Huskies (12-2, 10-0), 60-42.
What did the Lady Marauders in was a slow start in the first half, as the Lady Huskies build a 17-8 lead after the first quarter and a 31-14 lead at halftime.
"We came out and played really flat in the first half," Dunkirk head coach Sarah Bogardus said. "We ended up picking it up in the second, but unfortunately we were too far in a hole that we couldn't get out of."
Dunkirk scored 12 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth, but Olean kept pace, scoring 15 in the third and 14 over the game's final eight minutes.
Khee Nance finished the game with 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists and as many steals, leaving her 13 points shy of 1,000 for her career. Nance will have her chance reach the 1,000-point plateau tonight, when the Lady Marauders host CCAA Division 1 foe Falconer, at 7:30.
