Winter storm warning begins Friday morning

A winter storm warning is in effect from 4 a.m. Friday To 5 a.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Snow and sleet are expected to accumulate 4 to 8 inches.

The risk for icy conditions will begin late tonight and continue into Friday morning when the chances for sleet and freezing rain will be greatest.

Affected jurisdictions include: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Livingston, Ontario and Wyoming counties.
