RIPLEY - Brocton (15-1, 11-1) clinched CCAA Division 4 Tuesday night behind 15 points from Dan Ferguson and 12 from Jordan Patterson during boys basketball action at Ripley, as the Bulldogs upended the Eagles, 48-29.
"We raise the bar to play the tougher teams," Ripley head coach Adam Chambers said. "And the teams we have a chance against, we can't finish."
Brocton led 12-6 after the first eight minutes and took a 26-9 lead into halftime, before outscoring Ripley, 30-20, in the second half.
"We played tough," Chambers added. "We played better defense than I think we had all year."
Kyle Hammond had a team-high 13 points for Ripley while adding three steals two rebounds and as many blocks. Eric Horstman hauled down a team-high eight rebounds in the loss.
