Kenneth James Vendette Jr., 39, was taken unexpectedly Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2013) at his home in Dunkirk.
Born May 29, 1973 in Dunkirk, NY, to parents Kenneth J. Vendette Sr. and Toni Lee (Castiglia) Grimm.
He was respected and loved by his grandmother, Mary C. Vendette; parents Kenneth J. (Cheryl) Vendette and Toni Lee (Steven) Grimm; brother Kevin Vendette; friends Angela and Hannah; sister Nicole Vendette (Chance) Supko; Uncles and Aunts Michael (Patricia) Vendette, Jennifer VanValkenburg, Tim (Linda) Vendette; Laura Castiglia and Wendy Bullinger; cousins Dale J. (Kate) VanValkenburg II and Family, Megan and Christopher Vendette, along with several other cousins; and great-Aunt and Uncles, Julia Militello, Anthony Militello and Daniel Millet.
Kenneth was known throughout the area as a talented musician, music producer, songwriter and performer. He was also known for his art work for which he received recognition and a scholarship, but his first love was always his music.
Kenneth graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1991. He then attended Fredonia State University for four years.
He was currently employed by United Refining Company of PA (Kwik Fill) in Dunkirk.
Very quietly, Ken acquired multiple true friends and acquaintances throughout his life.
A very kind and gentle soul, he enjoyed nature and loved to go hiking, camping and just be outdoors.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 8 o'clock at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Zalacca will officiate. Calling hours will be held today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
