Lorraine M. Mucha

Lorraine M. "Poodie" Mucha, 82, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly Friday morning, Feb. 15, 2013.

She was born June 26, 1930 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Frank and Vivian (Zappie) Pagano.

A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Lorraine was a registered nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1992.

She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church where she sang in the choir.

Lorraine enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include her husband, Henry F. Mucha, whom she married July 12, 1952; three daughters, Karen (Terry) Kaus of Darien Center, NY, Sharon (Bill) Walawender of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mary (Peter) Smith of Dunkirk; one son, Daniel (Charity) Mucha of Cassadaga; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anita Heminger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
