The Rev. Donald W. Howard, pastor of Fredonia Baptist Church, was recently honored with a luncheon reception in the church Fellowship Hall. In celebration of the 35th anniversary of his ordination, Mr. and Mrs. Howard received corsages and greeted guests.
Pastors and friends from former churches at which the Rev. Howard served, as well as people from the various organizations with which he is currently involved were invited. Colleagues from the Dunkirk-Fredonia Clergy Association, Chautauqua County Baptist Association, Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, Harvest Chapel, Baptist House of Chautauqua Institution, and the Christian Nursery School were included.
The event was arranged by the Diaconate Board of FBC. The Rev. Howard received a gold cross necklace and a plaque for his desk. Special music for the worship service was provided by George Limb and Rachel Conklin, violinists attending SUNY Fredonia.

A committee including June Walldorff, Doris Woodbury, Grace Grimes, Larry Poole and Genevieve Ludemann prepared a salad buffet and sandwiches followed by cake and punch. Lindsay Rynder was in charge of the guest book. Many cards, emails and phone calls were received from well-wishers.
The Rev. Howard received his BS degree in biology with instructional for secondary education from Grove City College in Grove City, Pa. in 1974. In 1978 he earned a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. He earned a doctor of ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1984. He has authored two books and has been active in the community and professional organizations for many years.
