Two charged for excessive communication
JAMESTOWN - New York State Police have charged two individuals for aggravated harassment on Feb. 21. Over the preceding days, Adrianna Samlock, 20, of Clymer and Keith Tilyou, 19, of Ripley contacted police several times reporting the other person was contacting them excessively. Since neither party wished to file charges, verbal warnings were given to both to refrain from contacting each other. Both Samlock and Tilyou ignored the warning and continued to contact each other. Both were charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and released on appearance tickets for the Town of French Creek Court
CLYMER - New York State Police at Jamestown have recovered a stolen van at a local ski resort.
Deputies responded to Peek N' Peak Ski Resort for the report of a missing van on Feb. 17. While police were interviewing staff, another employee observed the van drive south on Olde Road and pull into a parking lot. Trent Johnston, 22, of Ripley was identified as the driver. He was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle and transported to the Jamestown barracks. He was arraigned in the Town of French Creek Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
JAMESTOWN - Brittany Merrill, 34, of South Dayton was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny on Feb. 20. State Troopers responded to a larceny complaint at the Sweet Repeats consignment shop in Jamestown. A customer told police a woman had stolen her purse containing credit cards and cash. Investigation led police to Merrill who was found at her residence with the stolen purse. She was arraigned in the Town of Kiantone Court and released on her own recognizance to appear in court at a later date.
