Accident sends two to hospital

A two-car accident sent two drivers to the hospital shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday. According to New York State Police, a vehicle operated by Linda Howard, 73, of South Dayton was turning left off Route 39 on to Route 20 when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun out of control and into the eastbound lane of traffic. Howard's vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle operated by Kenneth Tooley, 57, of Fredonia. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. No charges have been filed. Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, Sheridan Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance also responded to the scene.
