Besides Fredonia voters having a choice of four candidates for two seats and a justice, village residents also have a say on when to vote in the future.
Currently, for a number of villages, elections are held in March though it is not consistent. For instance, the Fredonia election is March 11 while elections in Silver Creek and Forestville are scheduled for March 19.
National, state and town elections, however, are held in November. And though savings from the change will be minimal, to maximize voter turnout, a change by the village from March to November makes sense.
Celoron, near Jamestown, has already made the change. Fredonia needs to follow that example.
