A tough and emotional report is to be revealed tonight during the Cassadaga Valley school board meeting. At stake is the potential closing of the elementary school in Cassadaga.
Besides the report, which is on the agenda to be discussed beginning at 7 p.m., community members are invited to offer their opinions regarding the issue. Our stance editorially is that if closing a building maintains educational opportunities for the students of a district, then we would rather a building close than staff be laid off or have courses eliminated.
On March 11, the board will decide on closing the Cassadaga facility. District residents' voices regarding the discussion matter to those who have been elected to serve: the school board.
Tonight is one of the last chances for residents to make their opinions known.
