Kevin Johnson would like to announce his bid for a seat on the Forestville Board of Trustees. He received and accepted the nomination of the Republican Party Jan. 29 for trustee for the March 19 village election.
Johnson moved to Forestville in 1974 with his parents Kenneth L. and Norma (Remson) Johnson. He graduated from Forestville Central High School in 1976 and from D'Youville College's School of Nursing in 1984.
Johnson married Jodi Nederland in 1985 and had two children, Kyal and Lynsey. After a career in the United States Air Force, the Johnsons bought a house on Lodi Street in Forestville and moved there in 2010.
Johnson is a registered nurse with 29 years experience as well as a retired Air Force officer and Iraqi War veteran
"I was entrusted with the lives of more than 3,600 men and women being medically evacuated from Iraq," Johnson explained.
He is also a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post 953, and the Professional Nurses Association of Western New York. Johnson currently works as the weekend nursing supervisor in a nearby skilled nursing facility.
"I want to put Forestville on track to meet the expectations of its citizens. I think people want transparency in what is done with their tax dollars and fees paid. The trustees must be good stewards of the tax dollars entrusted to them. Please vote for me on March 19. Thank you," Johnson added.
