WESTFIELD - The new epic miniseries called "The Bible" will be shown on the History Channel. For two hours (8 to 10 p.m.) each Sunday night, millions of viewers will see the world's greatest best-seller ever - the Bible - come to life like never before. It is concluding on Easter Sunday.
Lakeshore Assembly of God of Westfield is sponsoring a campaign to help build awareness, not just for this historic television event, but also for the amazing, life-giving book that this miniseries represents.
Echoing the words of Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, the church's heart is that those in Westfield and the surrounding communities will find that, "rather than a word-for-word documentary, this project combines drama and history in a way that captures the essence and heart of the Gospel and the broader biblical story. (We're) convinced that 'The Bible' represents a unique opportunity to convey God's redemptive message to a broad audience. (Our) prayer is that many lives will be impacted not only by the beauty and quality of the production, but by the Truth that lies at the center of the story."
The public is encouraged to tune in to this historical presentation of the works, the nature and the love of God. Then, Pastor Vinny Sanzo extends an open invitation to all who are searching for that sense of purpose in their lives to "come and experience the Bible with us. Each week we explore, discover and rediscover the life, the hope, the inspiration, the love and the truth woven throughout the pages of God's Word."
Feel welcome to join in at Lakeshore Assembly of God, 252 E. Main St. in Westfield, where services are Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday Family Nights at 6:30 p.m. Youth Ministry also meets Sundays at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. For additional information, call 326-3317.
"God gave us His Word," Pastor Vinny stated. "Our desire is to explore it and experience it, so we can all grow ... together."
