Linda Jane Foster Tucker, 72, of Fredericksburg VA died March 6, 2013. She had made her home at Heartfields in Fredericksburg for the past 12 years. Born February 22, 1941, the daughter of George and Carolyn (Henris) Foster of Sheridan NY, Linda graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1959, and continued her education at Marjorie Webster Junior College in Maryland. Linda was the wife of Captain Tracy Clark Tucker, whom she married June 10, 1961. Throughout her husband's career, Linda was the consummate Navy wife, making a comfortable and inviting home in over fifteen different places with her favorite being Charleston, SC. She took pleasure in entertaining friends and family wherever stationed. As her children grew, Linda worked outside the home in retail clothing sales and management. She thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing, and was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church. Linda is survived by her daughter, Lauren T. Dash of Fairfax, VA; one son, William C. Tucker (Tamara) of Ruckersville VA; sisters-in-law, Jan (Nelson) Meadows and Virginia T. Becker of Sheridan NY;
brother-in-law Ford (Gretchen) Tucker of Brecksville OH; and, brother-in-law Thomas Culhane of Barrington, RI as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband (who died April 18, 1994) she was predeceased by her brother, Donald Foster; and sister-in-law, Anne T. Culhane. A graveside service was held at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax VA. Memorials may be made in memory of Linda Tucker to American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. SE, Vienna VA 22180.
