Two injured in Sheridan crash

SHERIDAN - Two Silver Creek residents were injured in a motor vehicle accident early Thursday morning.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, David Kent, 59, was traveling on Route 5 in the town of Sheridan around 6:45 a.m. when he attempted to drive around another vehicle that was on the side of the road. When he did, he lost control, went off the road and hit a tree.

He was extricated from the vehicle and flown by Starflight to the Erie County Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Passenger Elizabeth Lysek, 47, was transported to Lake Shore Hospital with a head injury.

The investigation is continuing.

Along with the Sheriff's Department, responding to the crash were the Silver Creek Police Department, Sheridan Rescue, Alstar and Starflight.
