Brocton, Westfield school boards to discuss merger report

March 23, 2013
OBSERVER Staff Report , The OBSERVER

A first step came on Wednesday night with the release of a nearly 300-page report. Another step will be taken next month.

On April 11, the Boards of Education of Brocton Central School and Westfield Academy and Central School will hold a special joint meeting at 6 p.m. in the Brocton school auditorium. The purpose of this meeting is for the joint Boards of Education to discuss the proposed merger. The meeting is open to the public.

During the last meeting, both school board presidents cautioned to the full house in attendance that the report has to be studied.

Currently, the report calls for a three-phase effort in joining the two districts. But while major points were discussed, there was very little discussion on the reports by the boards.

The entire report can be found on the schools' websites. A copy of the report is also available on the OBSERVER's website at www.observertoday.com.
