Expect an on-time budget.
That is the word from state Sen. Catharine Young who was in Albany on Monday and expects the Senate's portion of the state plan to be completed by Wednesday before the Assembly begins its approval process.
Besides an increase in aid to area schools, which is expected to total $1 billion statewide, Young is proud of the Senate's efforts in getting an additional $75 million for the Consolidated Highway Improvement Program funding.
"All kinds of (transportation) projects will benefit Chautauqua County," she said.
Highway funding for municipalities has not been increased in recent years, Young noted. "This will get the area's economy moving," she said, "and the roads fixed."
