Fredonia State junior Kyle Grey (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) was named the SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Blue Devil hurler Zachary Hugg was last week's conference award winner.
Grey had three appearances during the week covering 9 1/3 innings - all in relief. He did not allow an earned run and struck out six.
He tossed two innings again NAIA power Freed-Hardeman, surrendering a pair of unearned runs.
The next day, he went four-and-a-third innings in relief, picking up the win in a 5-4 victory over Houghton. With the Devils down 4-1 early on, he allowed the offense to work for the walk-off victory. He retired all 13 batters he faced.
He finished the week with a three-inning save in a 5-3 win at Medaille. He struck out four and did not walk a batter while giving up one hit.
The Devils are off to a 9-4 start this season. Their home opener against Brockport has been moved to Wednesday. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
