The town of Pomfret will no longer be seeing a familiar face at the town hall. The Pomfret Town Clerk will be resigning due to retirement effective June 29.
Roberta Valentine announced her retirement at the monthly board meeting. Valentine has been with the town for 24 years now, she said, and formerly served on the board.
"I have sat in your (council) seat for 15 years and I have served under four supervisors. Under three of them I had served as deputy supervisor," Valentine said. "It has been an honor and privilege to serve the town of Pomfret."
