Fredonia (1-1) won the last four matches Wednesday in defeating Falconer (0-3), 4-1, in CCAA Division 1 boys tennis action.
"Five of my seven (players) have never played tennis before," Fredonia head coach Lisa Johnston said. "So this was a very good win for them."
After Cooper Miller dropped the Hillbillies' Jacob Thompson, 6-0, 6-0 in first singles, Fredonia took the next four matches, including John Cole winning second singles by forfeit.
"They have been practicing indoors for five weeks," Johnston noted. "So playing outdoors in the wind, they performed very well."
Nick Johnston took the third singles match over the Golden Falcons' Nathan Sanders, 6-3, 6-0, while in first doubles, Aidan Lang and Tyler Cassidy dropped Stephen Kanicki and Justin Gilbert, 6-0, 6-1. The tandem of Mike Johnson and Eric Jabot finished off Fredonia's first win by upending Christian Anderson and Steven Potts, 6-0, 6-1, in second doubles.
