Up 5-4 heading into the bottom of the fourth Wednesday, the Fredonia Hillbillies (7-0, 2-0) took control of the game, as they scored seven runs en route to a 16-7 win over CCAA Division 1 foe Falconer (1-1).
"We didn't play our best," Fredonia head coach Vince Gullo said. "But our bats started to click. We have a lot to improve on and we have a big game (today) against Olean."
Nick Hart and Weston Ley started the fourth with back-to-back walks, before Zach Buckley roped a three-run home run to push the Hillbillies' lead to 8-4. Jude Gardner kept the inning going after reaching on an error while Trent Thompson was hit by a pitch and Cameron Voss walked to load the bases. Christian Saden then cleared the bases with a triple and an 11-4 lead. Cody Smith capped the scoring in the fourth with an RBI single.

Buckley finished the afternoon a triple short of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Voss was 2-for-2 and reached base all five times he came to bat, Sebastian McAfee added an RBI single and Ley, Thompson and Gardner all scored three runs.
Ley earned the win on the hill for the Hillbillies, as he allowed four runs on five hits, struck out five and walked four over five innings of work.
Dunkirk in Gowanda and won 11-10.
