Edwin Paul "Curly" Bielat of Straight Road, Fredonia passed away peacefully April 17, 2013 at the Lake Shore Hospital ICU in Irving, NY after a short illness. He was 86.
Born January 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Paul Thomas Bielat and Helen Anna (Luczkowiak) Bielat. He had been married to the late Jennie Annette (Marsala) Bielat.
Edwin is survived by sons Kenneth Bielat and James (Mary) Bielat and daughter Debra Bielat; three grandchildren, Toby Bielat of Dunkirk, James Bielat of Fredonia and Colleen (Patrick) Brown of Eden, NY; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by sisters Eugenia Breneki, Marie Kowlowski; and infant daughter, Diane Bielat.
Edwin had attended Dunkirk schools. He had been a member of the Merchant Marines during World War II. He also was a retiree from the Ford Stamping Plant in Hamburg, NY. Edwin enjoyed living "on the farm" which he often referred to as "Heaven." He was an avid deer hunter.
Mr. Bielat's remains have been donated to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. The family will be grieving privately.
