SILVER CREEK - Jacob Brown took three events while Matt Civilette swept the long jump and triple jump as the Fredonia Hillbillies downed the Silver Creek Black Knights, 90-51, in CCAA Division 1 track and field action Monday.
Brown took the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:03, followed up with a win in the 800 (2:19.2) and capped the afternoon with top honors in the 3,200 (11:22.8).
Meanwhile, Civilette claimed the long jump with a score of 19-feet-5 inches before his win in the triple jump.
"We had an invitational at Dunkirk last Friday," Fredonia coach Bob Ball said. "Some of our kids were tired so we're just hoping to recover for next Friday (at the Golden Eagle Invitational in Falconer)."
Fredonia claimed the 4x800 relay in a time of 10:18 while Silver Creek closed the meet with a win in the 4x400 relay (3:54.2).
Pat McCarthy won both the 110 hurdles (17.00) and 400 hurdles (1:01.3) for the Hillbillies while Max Payne took the discus with a throw of 98-9.
Tyler Bain led Silver Creek with wins in the 110 dash (11.6) and the high jump (5-6).
In the girls' meet, Fredonia's Lauren Reyda won four events as the Lady Hillbillies defeated Silver Creek-Forestville, 92-45.
Reyda began her meet with a win in the 1500 in a time of 5:29.2. She continued her dominance with wins in the 400 (1:06.9), 800 (2:40.4) and 3,000 (12:27.5).
Nicole Woleben won two events for Fredonia as she took the long jump with a measurement of 14-4 and moved to the track with a win in the 100 (:17.3)
Hannah Sieders led Silver Creek-Forestville with two wins in the 400 hurdles (1:12.8) and 200 (29.3).
Both teams return to action Friday for the Golden Eagle Invitational at Falconer's Bill Race Field.
