WESTFIELD - Nichaela Cave, Brittany Harriger and Hailey Cruz are enrolled in the YWCA Westfield After School Advantage Program and they have been working with the Jamestown YWCA Project AIM (Adult Identity Mentoring).
"The goal with these activities is to help the students learn how to communicate and share their ideals in a positive manner, how to lead others and have fun at the same time," Julie Devlin, YWCA after school program coordinator said. Project AIM is part of the CAPP program (comprehensive adolescent pregnancy prevention) provided in Westfield through a partnership with the YWCA Jamestown.
The YWCA also makes the following announcements:

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Registration
Parents in the Westfield School district who have a child turning four by Dec. 1 are invited to register for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program lottery for the 2013-2014 school year. This is a free program. Information and Registration tables will be set up today from 9 a.m. through noon in the front lobby of the WACS. Registration forms are available through the elementary office at the school, but they must be completed and turned into the school by noon today. UPK students are chosen through a lottery system and parents will be notified after May 9.
Once again the YWCA has benefited from the efforts of a crew from Lakeview Correctional Institution.
"During the recent week our foundation beds have been cleaned and mulched, the lawn has been raked and mowed," YWCA Executive Director Katie Smith reported. "The village of Westfield provided the mulch, the labor was a free service and we're very pleased with the way our grounds look. The crews have been here several times over the past years and after each visit our grounds look better and better. We are most appreciative of the community service provided."
The collection of email address for YWCA members is continuing, according to administrative assistant Michelle Warner.
"E-mail will make it quicker and easier to communicate with our members and let them know as soon as the new cardio equipment is installed and operational," she said. "We will also roll out some new pricing structure related to memberships and fitness visits that we want to share."
Members are encouraged to call the YWCA or send an email to email@example.com with their name included.
