FORESTVILLE - Fredonia's Kyle Muldowney and Joe Conti and Dunkirk's Josh Galardo have advanced to next Monday's Sectional Qualifier after placing in the top six individually at the CCAA Division 1 Boys Golf League Qualifier Monday at Tri-County Country Club.
Muldowney finished second with a score of 102 after 21 holes, two shots behind leader Hasan Saleh of Olean. The top 10 individuals played three extra holes after an 18-hole round on the par-72 course. Conti shot a 104 to finish fourth and a shot behind third-place finisher Colin Rodgers of Jamestown. Galardo finished one shot behind Conti to place fifth.
Taylor West of Southwestern finished sixth with a score of 108, the last golfer to qualify. Cory Rodgers of Southwestern and Sean Nord of Falconer shot a 109 and 110 to be named as first and second alternate, respectively.
Muldowney shot an 86 after 18 holes to lead Fredonia while Conti carded an 88. Nick Pagano shot a 95 and qualified to play three extra holes but didn't place among the top individuals.
Galardo was Dunkirk's lone representative at the event and shot a 90 after 18 holes.
The Sectional Qualifier will be held at Diamond Hawk Golf Course in Cheektowaga with a rain date of May 22.
