Fredonia Police and Fredonia Fire departments responded to an accident on Risley Street in the village of Fredonia Tuesday. Around 3:30 p.m. authorities responded to the report of a tree down on Risley Street which had fallen near a Casella Waste Management truck, police said. The tree took down a power line and driver Rickie Ferry, 51, of Jamestown was temporarily trapped in the vehicle while National Grid secured the power line. Minor damage was reported to the truck. Police said they are unsure if the branch fell naturally or was caused by the truck.
