Rubbish fire

Firefighters work to control a rubbish fire on Buffalo Road in Irving. Fire Departments were called out about 2 p.m. and spent over two hours on site. Chief Gerald Rice of the Irving Department said, "The rubbish was buried and hard to put out." In addition to Irving, Hanover, Silver Creek, Sunset Bay, Sheridan, and East Town of Dunkirk responded. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation also reported to the scene.
