The Thursday Morning Knitters decided that their spring project would be a donation to Meals on Wheels clients. More than 200 dishcloths were knitted or crocheted for these seniors over the past several weeks. Help came from group members who meet regularly at St. John's in Dunkirk and those who knit at home. The Thursday Morning Knitters are appreciative of the contributions made by members and the other "yarn artists" who helped make this project a success.
Margo Perrello accepted the donation on behalf of Meals on Wheels from her mother and group member Rosalie Campbell.
The group meets Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30. Currently, there are many projects going on simultaneously. Those interested in joining the group or contributing to the group may pick and choose which projects to work on. The group is willing to teach knitting to beginners, and have needles and yarn to share. Knitters and would-be knitters of all ages and any gender are welcome. The group meets at St. John's United Church of Christ on Central Avenue.
