The Collage Performing Arts Center announces the recent achievements of the New York Majestic Junior Dance Team and studio soloist. The team recently traveled to Pittsburgh to compete in the StarQuest Regional Dance Championships. The 10 junior team members prepared a lyrical jazz routine for the weekend-long competition. The team earned a High Gold award for their jazz dance "Some Nights" and first place in their division. The team earned a special award for best choreography and outstanding costume design.
Several Collage soloists competed at StarQuest in a variety of dance genre. Shelby Genovese earned High Gold for her lyrical dance to "It's my Turn," Naomi Greenstein earned a High Gold for her lyrical dance to "Lovely," Ava Rukavina earned Platinum for her jazz dance to "It's all about me." Jaryaniz Vasquez earned Platinum for her lyrical dance to "Great Escape," Hannah Koning earned a Platinum Plus for her solo to "I Wanna be a Rockette" and Mary Barnes earned two Platinum Plus awards for her lyrical and contemporary solos.
Choreography for the routines were created by Jenna Lee Mansfield, Mariah Wojciechowski, Caitlin Greenstein and Marci Williams-Hadley.

The Collage PAC students are currently training hard for the upcoming dance show "Shake it Up!" held at the SUNY Fredonia Rockefeller Arts Center, Marvel Theatre on June 6, 7 and 8, with tickets available through the college.
