BROCTON - The Portland Bicentennial Committee would like to remind residents in the township of the extended deadline date to turn in applications for the First Annual Farm/Garden Tour to be held June 15-16.
Scheduled as part of the Bicentennial Celebration events, the tour encourages home and farm owners to take pride in their community and property and will also provide a way for passers-by to learn more about the rich history of the Brocton/Portland area.
For anyone wishing to showcase their property or farm on the Farm/Garden Tour, it is imperative that an application be picked up, filled out and turned in as soon as possible so that tour maps are as accurate as possible. Applications can be found at the Town of Portland Clerk's Office, the Village of Brocton Clerk's Office, Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton or at Wood's Repair. The deadline for applications is Monday, June 10.
Details about the route will be released soon. For more information about the tour, or other Bicentennial events, please visit portlandbicentennial.org.
