GOWANDA - Barry S. Halftown, age 55, of Rt. 39, Gowanda passed away Thursday June 13, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by family.
Born into the Wolf Clan, the son of Marilyn P. (Huff) Mitchell, husband Bergal Jr. of Irving, and the late Gilbert L. Halftown on June 7, 1958 in Buffalo.
A self-employed laborer, Barry is survived by 5 children: Steven Halftown of Gowanda, Nathan (Nicole Schiefer) Halftown of Gowanda, Dominic Whalen of Gowanda, Amy Halftown of Cheektowaga, Salina Halftown of Gowanda, along with a stepson, Cameron Halftown of Gowanda. Barry is also survived by 6 grandchildren along with brothers and sisters Chri-stal Mitchell of Irving, Sharon Tallchief of Angola, Jeannie (Chris) Stevens of Irving, Vickie (David) Mercado of Gowanda, Juanita Williams of Gowanda, Theresa Halftown of Salamanca, Gilbertin (Pete) Barnes of Ft. Erie, Michelle Mitchell of Irving, Bergal (Rachel) Mitchell III of Gowanda and Lee (Rich) Harris of Warsaw, along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Gilbert, Barry was preceded in death by sisters Natalie and Vanessa Halftown; and a brother David Mitchell.
The family will receive friends at the home of Barry's mother, Marilyn and Bergal Mitchell's residence 12548 Rt. 438, Irving after 1 p.m. today and all day on Sunday. Barry's funeral will be held Monday June 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the house with burial to follow in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery, Rt. 438. Cliff Garlow officiating.
