Gertrude J. Klancer, 95, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Brevillier Village in Erie, Pa.
She was born in Dunkirk Feb. 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Maximillian and Josephine (Cybart)Jozwiak.
Mrs. Klancer lived 93 years in Dunkirk before recently moving to Erie.

She was a seamstress at Van Raalte Corp. and retired from M.Wile Co.
An active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Gertrude was an adult altar server, a special minister of Holy Communion and also worked as a cook at the rectory.
Survivors include her son, David (Sandra) Klancer of Erie; grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Davis, Laura (Jeremy) Guntrum and Sarah (Matt) Dayak; four great-grandchildren, Lilly and Owen Davis, and Ella and Kyra Guntrum; a sister, Harriet Cobb; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Klancer; brothers Frank, Steve, John and Marion Jozwiak; sisters Jane Rozumalski, Helen Davern, Regina Radawich, and Genevieve Antonelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
