Fredonia History Days wants historical groups to reserve space
Fredonia will host the second annual Fredonia History Days July 19-20 in Barker Common.
Area historical groups or agencies that have not reserved free space in the local history tent may still do so, but space is limited.

The Mayville Library will host author Kolleen Lucariello for a book signing on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Lucariello will have copies of her book, "The ABC's of Who God Says I Am," available for purchase. Lucariello currently lives in Parish, but is a native of Mayville. For more information, call the library at 752-7362.
Foster parent info meeting Tuesday
The Chautauqua County Department of Social Services will hold an information meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Jamestown Community College Train-ing Center on Bennett Road in Dunkirk for those interested in learning more about becoming foster parents. Foster parents are needed in the area for children of all ages and for groups of siblings. For more information, call 661-8212.

The Pine Valley Board of Education will hold a special meeting today at 8 a.m. in board conference room of the elementary school to open building project bids.

"Hidden in the Hills - The 20th Annual Great Blue Heron Festival" is airing on Access Channel 5 at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. each day, running through Friday.
If you've never been to the festival, this documentary will give you a taste of what The Great Blue Heron Festival is all about. The program was produced by Mark Kiyak.
Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Westfield, Chau-tauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Ripley and Portland.
Forestville Youth Recreation registration
Forestville Youth Recrea-tion will hold registration Wednesday and Friday from 1-4 p.m. in the Ele-mentary School cafeteria. These days are for registration only. Use the back door to the cafeteria and not the main entrance of the school. The Summer Rec Program will start on July 8 at 1 p.m.
DHS Class of '93 to host Alumni Pub Crawl
Members of the Dunkirk Class of 1993 are proud to be hosting the annual DHS Alumni Pub Crawl on Friday in honor of the 20th anniversary of their graduation. The waterfront pub crawl will begin at Rookies on the Lake, with a $5 registration occurring from 6 to 8 p.m. Other establishments on the itinerary include Big Daddy's, Demetri's, Spike Daily's and the Clarion. The event is open to the general public.
Fredonia Village Hall closed for holiday
The village of Fredonia offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Fourth of July holiday.
Jackson Lecture July 9
Charles Fried, Beneficial Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, will deliver Chautauqua Institution's 9th annual Robert H. Jackson Lecture on the Supreme Court of the United States. Professor Fried will give the Jackson Lecture on July 9 at 4 p.m. in Chautauqua's Hall of Philosophy.
Fried is a leading jurist, scholar, teacher and litigator. From 1985-1989, he served as Solicitor General of the United States under President Reagan. From 1995-1999, he served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Except for those periods of public service, he has been teaching at Harvard since 1961.
Hanover Gateway Access 12 program change
Due to a number of technical issues, the Senior Report with Reed Powers will no longer be available on Access Channel 12 in the town of Hanover. The show is also broadcast on channel 19 and viewers are directed to tune in to channel 19 at 9 a.m. on Saturday to watch the live show.
