DADE CITY, Florida - Philip C. Kahabka, 75, of Dade City, Fla., died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
Phil was born April 25, 1938 in Forestville, NY, a son of the late Francis and Dawn Rider Kahabka. He had been a resident of southern Cayuga County most of his life, until moving to Florida.
Phil had been a truck driver working for Conklin Farms in Venice and Alnye Trucking in Moravia.
He was a faithful member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Moravia. He attended the Temple Baptist Church in Dade City and was a former member of the East Venice Cemetery Association.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Saam Kahabka of Dade City; two sons, Tim and his wife, Michelle Kahabka and Scott Kahabka; three grandchildren, Kristy, Kimberly and Joseph Kahabka; two great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kylie Kahabka, all of Moravia; two brothers, Clayton and his wife, Susan Kahabka of Brown City, Mich., and Loyd "John" and his wife, Judy Kahabka of Dunkirk, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
