Darlene V. Ortel, 76, a resident of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, formerly of Bartlett Hill Road, South Dayton & 1 Temple Square, Fredonia, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence, following a short illness.
She was born in Gowanda on August 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Floyd and Adeline (Heim) Valentine.
Mrs. Ortel worked as a Health Care Worker for the former JN Adam Developmental Center, Perrysburg. She was a former member of the Forestville Chapter Order of Eastern Star #247.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Pfleuger LeBarron of South Dayton, Brenda Bentley of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Bonnie (Eugene) Wistner of New Port Richey, FL and a sister, Marilyn Crowell, of South Dayton. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by 5 brothers, Loren, Marvin, Norman, Lester and LaVerne Valentine; and by 3 sisters, Lenore Lucas, Byrle Hahn and Audrey Grey.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Forestville Wesleyan Church, Prospect Road, Forestville, with Rev. Bruce M. Ellis, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
