A fire at 157 Point Drive North in the city of Dunkirk resulted in the total loss of a home Saturday morning.
According to a press release by the Dunkirk City Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the structure fire at around 1:30 a.m. First arriving units found a heavily involved structure threatening exposures on each side of the house, as well as behind it.
The structure was vacant at the time and crews alerted the neighbors to evacuate.
Because of the close proximity of the neighboring homes and the heavy fire involvement, crews concentrated on protecting the buildings from exposure.
The home was destroyed with exterior damage to 155 Point Drive North and 159 Point Drive North.
The East Dunkirk Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted with water supply. The Fredonia Fire Department stood by in the city with one engine company.

Firefighters were called to a fully involved structure fire at 157 Point Drive North Saturday around 1:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Dunkirk Fire and Chautauqua County fire investigators also responded. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported and crews were on the scene for five hours.
