A crowd believed to number more than 2,000 were in attendance for a Public Service Commission hearing in the Williams Center at Fredonia State.
The line of those in attendance stretched outside the door and around the circular building. The hearing began with statements from both NRG Energy and National Grid. At stake was the future of the NRG facility. NRG is hoping to repower the facility as a natural gas facility. It currently uses coal.
The project would be in excess of $500 million.
A crowd estimated at 2,000 filled into the Williams Center.
