Leland J. Johnson, age 66, of Fredonia, NY died suddenly Thursday July 18, 2013 as he was operating his tractor-trailer while traveling east on Route 20 near the intersection of Route 60.
Born in Dunkirk, NY to the late Anthony and Violet Johnson, he was a lifelong resident of Fredonia, NY. He was a graduate of Fredonia High School.
Lee was the owner/ operator of L.J. Trucking for 40 years at the time of his death. D&F Pallet Co. of Fredonia was his main customer.
He enjoyed NASCAR, 4-Wheeling and hanging out with his dog Joplin. Lee also enjoyed camping with family and his friends, Pat and Linda. He also liked having coffee at Denny's with the guys.
Survivors include his wife Janice (Boardman) Johnson; his children: Leland C. (Cam) of Forestville, NY, Brian (Cathy) of Walworth, NY, Angela Szukala (Tom Gee) of Brocton, NY, Trisha Pietrkiewicz of Buffalo, and Brenda Johnson of Fredonia, NY; his loving grandchildren: Lance, Chantel, Rhianna and Spenser Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Amanda Szukala, and Kayla Pietrkiewicz and great- grandchildren: Gavin, Aubrey, Tyler and Chase. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Johnson.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, NY, where a funeral service will be held Monday morning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Webster Road Cemetery.
