Three people suffered minor injuries after a two-car accident in the town of Dunkirk Wednesday around noon. According to State Police at Fredonia, a vehicle driven by Rosella M. Potkovick, 84, of Winter Springs, Fla., was headed north on Temple Road, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection of Route 5. A vehicle driven by Stephanie L. Gruber 28, of Jamestown was headed east on Route 5 and struck Potkovick’s vehicle, which left the road and struck a utility pole. Both cars were towed from the scene. Potkovick, Gruber and Gruber’s passenger Yvonne S. Ameno, were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Potkovick was charged with failure to yield the right of way and will appear in the Dunkirk Town Court at a later date. West Dunkirk Fire Department assisted at the scene.
