For 45 years, Fredonia's Barker Common has been buzzing at this time of year.
Not only is it the sound of students returning for the fall semester at Fredonia State, it's also a festival celebrating area growers, crafts as well as performances. It's another edition of the Fredonia Farm Festival, which unofficially kicked off Thursday night with a movie in the park and continues through Sunday.
Besides the annual staples to the event, there are some new ones as well including Beatlemania Now, a popular tribute band that performs tonight at 7 and Terry Buchwald, Elvis impersonator, on Saturday, with an '80s band Hit N Run performing Sunday afternoon.
A grand parade and antique car show on Sunday also round out the event.
"We're bringing back the old-time traditions," said Melissa Thompson, chairwoman of this year's event.
Those traditions, annual attendees can agree, are appreciated.
