The Collage competitive dance teams will be traveling to the Walt Disney World Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla. in February 2014 to compete in the United States largest national dance competition. It will be televised on ESPN.
The New York Majestic junior-senior competitive dance teams, the Hot-Shots, Dazzlers and Diamond Girls dance teams from Collage Performing Arts Center all have qualified for the 2014 Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championships. CPAC high school, junior high and youth dance teams based on their performance at a five-day UDA summer dance intensive and regional dance championship at Slippery Rock University in Pa.
The NY Majestic junior-senior dance teams have 15 team members in grades eight through 12. The senior team is captained by Nicole Roth. They earned a first place finish in the compulsory jazz dance category, first place in the pom division and earned the qualifying points for a spot at the UDA national dance championships, receiving the "Superior Team" trophy,

The junior NY Majestic team earned a superior rating on their home jazz routine. They were awarded a trophy and a bid to compete at Nationals in February. The team had the highest score on the combination dance, incorporating jazz, pom, hip hop and high kick choreography into one routine. The junior Majestic team earned the Choreography "Full Out" Trophy for incorporating the most unique choreography into the compulsory team routine.
The Hot-Shot dance team has 10 competing middle school team members, with Mary Barnes as captain. They won in the junior high jazz dance division, qualified to compete at the national championships and received special recognition for their technical skills.
The Dazzlers received a first place superior award for their jazz dance. The team is eligible to compete in the UDA Youth National Dance Team Championships. Lydia Lanski served as team captain.
The Diamond Girls Youth dance team is a small team of Kaitlin Hayes, Abby Roth, Ava Rukavina, Gabby Spinuzza and Kara Vecchio. They earned a first place bid and a superior rating to qualify and compete at nationals.
Several outstanding dancers competed in the individual "All-American Individual Dancer" competition. These dancers were required to attend extra dance classes and perform jazz, pom, hip-hop and high kick dance skills in a routine judged by a panel of five professionals.
Majestic senior team members Heather Dorler, Samantha Pucci and Nicole Roth were selected as outstanding UDA All-Americans. The Senior UDA All-Americans received gold medals for their accomplishment and an invitation to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Middle school students selected as Junior All-American Dancers were Mary Barnes, Melissa Berg, Alizee Dziduch, Hannah Fetterick, Hannah Koning, Catie Roth, Kaylee Hamm and Lydia Lanski. They received gold medals and were invited to participate in the Liberty Parade in Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day.
The New York Majestic junior-senior dance teams perform at many area summer events. The four teams will perform next at the Fredonia Farm Festival Parade and at the Festival of Grapes Parade in Silver Creek in September.
