Delores K. "Spikey" Haase, 82, of Fredonia died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening (Aug. 27, 2013) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo with her family at her side.
She was born Aug. 25, 1931 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Roger and Lena (Fote) Tyler.
A homemaker, Mrs. Haase had worked at Candyland in her earlier years. She also was the cafeteria director at Cardinal Mindszenty High School for 11 years until its closing in 1979.

She enjoyed puzzles, knitting, crocheting, roller skating, watching game shows and playing "Wii" with her great-grandson, Keegan. She also was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include four sons, Richard III (Ricarda-Sue) Haase of Cassadaga, Roger (Cindy) Haase of Stockton, Michael (Patsy) Haase and Douglas J. Haase, both of Fredonia; her daughter and caregiver, Susan L. Haase of Fredonia, with whom she lived; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie (Thomas) Haase Good, Lynn (Matthew) Moeller, Julie (Kory) Haase-Smith, John Haase, Jennifer (Jonathan) Kolas-sa, Michael Haase Jr., Lindsey (Todd) Rice, Thomas Haase, Alicia Haase, William Tryczenski and Christina Haase. Five great grandsons, Eston, Keegan, Khale, Trevor and Jake; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. "Abe" Haase Jr., who died April 11, 2007; and a sister, Lena M. Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be cele-brated Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 2013 at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brooks Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit.
