FORESTVILLE - Andrew Dobony, Jr., 79, of King Road, Forestville, died unexpectedly Friday, August 30, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 2, 1933, the son of the late Andrew and Susan (Ketcham) Dobony, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 as a Pfc. Dobony worked as a brakeman for South Buffalo Railway, Lackawanna, for over 30 years. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59. Mr. Dobony enjoyed hunt-ing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn (Silvernail) Dobony of Forestville, a daughter, Andrea (Jerry) Kinney, of Fredonia, a son, Christopher (Robyn) Dobony, of Watertown and several sisters. Also surviving are two grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.
There will be no visitation or services observed. The family suggests memorial donations may be made either to the American Heart Association, 20 Northpointe, Suite 130 Amherst, NY 14228 or to Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post #59, Main Street, Fredonia, NY 14063.
