Marjorie Helen Steffan, 82, of Lawrence Park, PA, formerly of Dunkirk, died Thursday evening, September 5, 2013, at Twin Brook Nursing Home in Erie.
She was born June 15, 1931, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Grace Burgen.
Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk until she moved to the Bentwood Apartments in Erie, PA.
Reading was Marjorie's favorite past time, and in her younger days, she loved to walk and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was a past member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church in Dunkirk.
Surviving are her children Kathleen (Kaus) Pierce of Erie, PA, Bruce (Ranee) Kaus of Lily Dale, Edziu Kaus of Dunkirk, David (Sandy) Sasso of Erie, PA, and Larry (Mary) Sasso of Fredonia. Many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews, also survive.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her husbands Harry L. Kaus, Allen R. Steffan; sons Louis S. Kaus, Matthew J. Kaus; son-in-law Gerald Pierce; stepchildren Lois (Kaus) Fox, Harry L. Kaus Jr., Lenora Kaus; and beloved aunt Mable Ecker.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call on Sunday from 5-8 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street, in Dunkirk, where funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. Walter Werbicki to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
