Fredonia Heat win Macker crown
The Fredonia Heat recently captured first place in the 13-14-year-old Division at the Gus Macker double-elimination basketball tournament held in Olean. The team consisted of, from left, Hannah Cybart, Caitlyn Cybart, Zoya Katta and Morgan St. George. The 17-team bracket consisted of teams throughout the Southern Tier. On the first day of the tournament, Fredonia defeated Lady Pride, 11-2, and Richmond Racing, 11-6. On the second day of the tournament, Fredonia defeated Village Green, 11-8, to reach the semifinals and they then qualified for the finals by beating We Bout It, 11-8. We Bout It came back through the losers bracket to get into the finals where they beat Fredonia 8-7, setting up the winner-take-all game. There, Fredonia prevailed 15-6 to capture the championship.

Black?Knight Hall of
The Black Knight Hall of Fame Golf Tournament will take place at Tri-County Country Club on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12:30 p.m. with a shot gun start.
All proceeds go to the BLACK KNIGHT HOF program.
Anyone interested in registering a team should contact Sean Helmer at Silver Creek High School.
Blue Devil Divers
The Blue Devil Divers offer an instructional diving program for all levels of springboard diving from "Learn to Dive" to "Advanced" training. Experienced coaches will be on hand to safely instruct divers in fun and motivating sessions. Competitive opportunities are available to all divers, ages 5-18 years old.
All sessions are conducted at the Steele Hall Natatorium on the Fredonia State campus. Blue Devil Diving is affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union and U.S. Diving. All members must register with the AAU in order to participate.
Christian Torres is the head coach of the club. While at SUNY Fredonia, Torres became a two-time All-American and SUNYAC Diving Champion. In August, he captured a gold and silver medal that the 2013 USA Diving Summer National Masters Diving competition at the University of Michigan. Coach Torres is assisted by current members of the Fredonia State Dive Team.
Classes are held Friday and Sunday, starting on Sept. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Steele Hall pool.

Golf Tournament Set
The Annual Bob North Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Tri-County Country Club on Sept. 22.
This is a four-man scramble with 10 a.m. registration and donuts, 11 a.m. shotgun, snacks at turn, lunch following golf. Entry covers square in football pool. Fees are $65 non-member and $40 member. Payment and application due by Sept. 20. Call Pro Shop at Tri-County for more information at 965-9723.

Kim Vona wins Little Three Cross Country Race
Kim Vona recently captured her second consecutive Little Three Cross Country race at Delaware Park.
The Niagara University senior came from a good distance back to pass two St. Bonaventure runners in a sprint to the finish.
In the team standings, St. Bonaventure, fielding a solid team, won their first Little Three Crown, followed by Canisius and Niagara.
In the Men's Division, Canisius won its eighth straight Little Three title with Niagara in second and St. Bonaventure in third.
