Lake Erie Bird Club members will meet Monday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at BOCES on Fredonia-Stockton Road in Fredonia. Jerry Lazarczyk of Grand Island and formerly of Dunkirk will present the program on his many adventures of birding in all 62 counties in New York State. The New York State Ornithological Society encourages its members to participate in their county birding survey. This is fun and challenging to do as birders travel to counties throughout the state and keep lists of what birds they see in each county. Participants don't have to start over each year; just add birds to any lists already started or visit new counties and begin new lists. The group will hear from Jerry about all of his many trips back and forth across the state as he adds birds to his county lists.
Members will also have the opportunity to sign up for the Oct. 13 Buffalo Ornithological Society bird count.
All who are interested in birds are welcome to attend the meetings. For more information call 673-1627.
