William E. "Bill" Ellis Jr., 61, passed away Wednesday morning (Sept. 11, 2013) at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1952 in Prince George, Md., the son of the late William E. Sr. and Phyllis (Klaes) Ellis.
Bill worked for a number of years in the maintenance department of the New York State Armory in Buffalo, NY.
He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan, and a diehard New York Yankees fan who enjoyed all forms of gambling-bingo, poker and pinochle, to name a few.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas W. Ellis of Virginia Beach, Va., and Chad A. Ellis of Irving, NY; four grandchildren, Timothy A., Matthew T., Sarah A. and Autumn Ellis; two sisters, Beverly (Robert) VanDette of Angola, NY and Deborah (Leonard) Crawn of Irving, NY; two brothers, Wal-lace (Diane) Baker and Marke (Barbara) Ellis, both of Silver Creek, NY; and a close friend, Shirley Cairns of Kitchener, Ontario.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Richelle (Scanio) Ellis; two brothers, Larry and Jerry Baker; and a sister, Evelyn Baker.
Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. from where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., with Father Kevin Baker of St. Patrick's Church, officiating. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time.
