The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Adult & Community Education Division recently announced two new evening classes this fall. A Basic/Advanced Welding course is available at the LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia, and a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Level 1 class is offered at the Carrier Educational Center in Angola.
The Basic/Advanced Welding course is a 10-week, 60-hour course designed for both beginner and developed welders. Individualized instruction will include welding principles, safety procedures, cutting operations, as well as performing basic welds in the flat and horizontal positions. Advanced welders will cover welds in the flat, horizontal, overhead, and vertical up and down positions. Classes cost $675 and meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from Oct. 1 through Dec. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Level 1 class is a 10-week, 30-hour program that provides general knowledge of refrigeration systems, as well as basic tools and service procedures. Registration costs $395 and classes are held Tuesdays starting on Oct. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Water Exercise classes are also available at the LoGuidice Center in two separate fall sessions. The program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 8, while the second session gathers on the same week days and times starting on Nov. 12. Cost for each five-week session is $55, or both for $100.
