16 year old charged with sex abuse
CHAUTAUQUA - A 16-year-old male from the town of Chautauqua was arrested and charged on Oct. 9 with felony first-degree sexual abuse, felony first degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child. He was charged after allegedly having sexual contact with a 6-year-old female on multiple occasions over the last couple months at a residence in the town of Chautauqua. He was arraigned in North Harmony Court and further proceedings will take place in County Court.
Dunkirk man found in possession of nearly a pound of marijuana
STOW - A Dunkirk man was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana on Oct. 9 after police performed a road check on Route 394. Brian G. Waller, 36, of Dunkirk was pulled out of traffic when troopers smelled marijuana. According to the police report, troopers located over 14 ounces of marijuana and an open can of beer in the vehicle. Waller was taken to the Jamestown State Police barracks and issued a traffic ticket for the open container. He was then arraigned in North Harmony Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
Traffic stop leads to discovery of warrants, arrest
GERRY - State Police arrested a Buffalo man on Oct. 9 after state police witnessed a vehicle speeding on Route 60. According to the police report, Taihek D. Quarles, 36, was observed traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. Upon further investigation, it was alleged that Quarles possessed a suspended New York State driver's license with 13 suspensions on eight different dates. It was also revealed that Quarles had two active bench warrants from the City of Jamestown. One warrant was for second-degree criminal impersonation and the other was for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Quarles had two child passengers in the vehicle and was issued citations for speeding, improper child restraint, improper plates, unlicensed operation for holding an expired identification card and another charge of aggravated unlicensed operation, second-degree. He was taken to the Jamestown Police Department for execution of the warrants and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Gerry Court at a later date for the traffic charges.
Jamestown man charged with allegedly manufacturing meth
JAMESTOWN - A man who was wanted for the alleged manufacturing of methamphetamine has been taken into custody. Phillip Reichardt, 38, of Jamestown was taken into custody by police in Titusville, Pa., on a felony warrant on Thursday morning. Reichardt was wanted in connection with an incident which occurred last month on Crossman Street. He is currently being held in the Crawford County Jail where he is awaiting an extradition hearing. He will be returned back to Chautauqua County if and when he waives the extradition. Investigators from Jamestown police have been in communication with police in Titusville since Reichardt had fled the Jamestown area and was believed to be heading to Titusville to stay with members of his girlfriend's family. A check of one of these locations led to Reichardt's arrest.
